“Approximately a year and a half ago we moved into our Authentic built home. We were pleased by the entire construction process, and looked forward to enjoying our home. We have indeed been pleased with the quality of construction and especially pleased with the steps taken to provide energy efficiency. Authentic used many of the newer energy savings devices when insulating our home. They also took great care in properly positioning our home to minimize the effects of the summer sun resulting in a home that is comfortable in the summer with minimal cooling. In the winter, our home is free of drafts and cold spots allowing for efficient use of heat at moderate temperature. We believe these factors are the reason our power bills to date have been extremely reasonable and yet allow for an extremely comfortable living environment. “My wife and I invested approximately two years searching for an area to call home, and to find a builder who would meet our expectations. After exhaustive search we selected Cordillera Ranch. That was the easier of our tasks. Our next challenge was to find a builder that could take our thoughts and desires and turn them into a home, not just a house but home. Our situation was different than most buyers would experience in that we did not live in the area and did not intend to make frequent visits during the many stages of design and construction. To the contrary we did not expect to see the ongoing effort at all, only end results. That meant that we were going to sign a contract and leave town. To do that meant we were going to trust the builder explicitly. Not an easy decision for someone with no contacts in the area. After several meetings with Israel and his team, Ann and I decided to rely completely on Israel and Authentic Custom Homes to build our home. The day we signed the contract we spent about two hours reviewing draft plans and discussing their approach for final design and construction. Our final words were “You build like it was for yourself, and if you are happy with the results we will be happy.” Then we departed. Over the next year we received frequent photos of the building in progress but made no input as to styles, fixtures, appliances or colors, and we could not be more pleased with the results. “Let me say that Israel and his associates are exceptional and my wife, Marna, and I recommend them without reservation.We came to Israel with plans from another architect for which we had already gotten bids. They were all too high. Israel and his exceptional design team were able to improve upon the plan while lowering costs! They were also very sensitive to our wishes. This was just the beginning of a wonderful relationship. Israel has a small firm with exceptional people and there is a real sense of customer focus. In fact, customers become friends and feel themselves to become members of an extended family. Better yet, as our lovely home becomes a reality we realized we do not have to worry; we are very pleased about the construction process and the quality of the work being done. If at any time there is a concern, we can call Israel, other staff members, or our excellent construction superintendent, Jeff, and get immediate assistance. In addition, we have a wonderful designer, Kim, to work with us on our selections and to improve aspects of the design. Any time we speak with the office we are treated with such kindness and attention to our concerns. Marna especially loves that she is able to customize the home with some antique features like old transoms or a beveled front door and Jeff and his crew are more than willing to accommodate. We all hear horror stories about people coming to hate their builder. But Marna and I are so fond of Israel and every member of his staff. I think that you will be pleased with not only the style that they design for you, but even more important; the quality of the construction. We rented a house three miles down the road while ours was under construction, so we saw everything first hand and up close. And I do recommend them!!  Friends of ours were building out here at the same time using another builder and we would go by their job site and look at their home, I was truly saddened by the shabby work and poor materials that they would then be hiding behind walls and paint!! There was no comparison to the workmanship that was going into ours. If you have had the opportunity to get to know Israel Pena, the man that is Authentic Custom Homes, and everyone that works there, you would understand why you end up with a well built home.
