Custom home design: Simple, classic

When it Comes to Custom Home Design, Simple Doesn’t Mean Boring

In today’s culture of “more is better,” it can be hard for us to think of simple designs and styles as anything but dull. Fortunately, “simple” doesn’t have to mean “boring.”

Here are some homes we’ve designed and built that are simple, captivating, and perfectly suited to the families who live there.

Welcoming entryways

These entryways are striking, but you’ll notice there’s not any frills or fuss. The designs are bold and geometric, with the entryway on the left inspired by the Spanish Missions in San Antonio.

For the other home, landscaping with native plants and the addition of two large lights make the entrance feel grand without feeling overdone.

Comfortable rooms

Both of these homes feature a neutral color palette, which puts the furnishings and architectural details like banisters, ceiling beams, and window frames front and center.

Inviting porches

Did you know that your custom home’s land and views can have as big an impact on the home as its design?

For each of these homes, we decided to keep the porch simple while giving the beautiful Hill Country landscape a chance to shine. Who wouldn’t want to spend time here sipping coffee or chatting with friends?
